our perceptions holds a BIG role. because they shows how our mentality level is.
The perspectives that I would like to share with you guys, is about what we are doing right now, what we are taking as a undergraduate students. We really think that this is a BIG deal and we give our best shot in our studies. structured assignments, rigid presentations, printed notes became our best friends along the exam week, spill out everything what we have memorized on the paper, be the best in the class, get on top of it, because you think it is worth it.
But remember, you're not going to be in university FOREVER. You have to move on. raise your head higher, think ahead , think MORE if you still not sure of where would you be heading after graduate.

A few days ago, Prof Dr Siti Raudzah Bt Razali, Dean of Pusat Pemajuan Pelajar, showed to us that, Faculty of Cognitive Science & Human Development holds low percentage of Graduate Employ ability (GE) among other 3 faculties, FACA, FSTS, FSS
UNIMAS stayed in the bottom 10 of universities who its graduate students who less being accepted to have a job. its an ugly number.
so BIG thing to consider. Yes, major big thing.
but recently, after watching out/facilitate interview for internship of a gigantic oil and petroleum company, Schlumberger. i urged myself to share something valuable. Those who get internship in that place would get at least RM 4k +++ if you have a spot there. and I'm not kidding.
Those guys from the companies DO NOT want to see those 4-flats , colorful results exams. they absolutely DO NOT want to see how excellent you are in group assignments, or being so stand out in the group, plus how smooth we are handling group members on assignments. NO they wouldn't never want to know that. I shocked myself
Its a thick meaning of
"What we learnt outside class is more richer that what we learn in class"
its true, guys.
When you think you are so proud of yourself, standing to introduce ourselves in front of the people who are considering to take us for a position in a company- you forget a few IMPORTANT things.
1. Do you know your strengths? Can you name it now?
I'm sure I'm quite blurred myself. I admit that even though I'm so active in campus activities, I'm not quite sure myself which are my strengths THAT THE COMPANIES NEEDS.
Don't ever said that you excellent in communication if your volume is so slow, still holding small notes in your palms, frequently (accidently) using sound "Err .. " in your speech, or paused a lot in your speech.
If you introduce yourself in HIGH volume, just KEEP it HIGH volume until the end. it shows your consistency. *take note
2. Do you know your weaknesses? Can you name it, now?
3. What makes you so special that they would lose a lot if they didn't pick you for the internship?
Those mentioned above need to be presented in 2 minutes. or less.. plus your background.
Imagine you are just studying and less joining campus activities. what would happen? Zero.
I'm trembled. I don't want to end up unemployed after 4 years graduated.
For those who wish to be in other fields after graduate, what we learnt are the pure accessories in resume. I'm not kidding. You have psychology knowledge, cognition knowledge, (counselling for example) , and you enter Human Resource Department. Man, its a good thing!
Value what we learnt, add up with more experiences while we're still here in university's life!
Lets change, Fill up our resume, and Ready, Set , GO !
Yours sincerely,
Nur Maisarah Bt Mohtar
